At the exhibition, LG Electronics will operate two zones; one is the display zone featuring PDP TV, LCD TV and other latest internationally competitive TVs; while the other zone will cover digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), introducing up-to-date DMB phones and DMB notebooks. In the display zone, LG Electronics will place the focus on 'convergence' display products equipped with various up-to-date functions by displaying 'premium' products such as 71-inch PDP TV, 'Time Machine' PDP TV, 55-inch Full HD-class LCD TV, and memory card-embedded LCD TV. HDR (Hard Disk Recording)-embedded PDP TV that LG Electronics introduced the market for the first time in the world contains hard disk and memory card slot. With the employment of the 160GB hard disk whose storage capacity represents two or three times that of a general PC, it can store and reproduce HDclass broadcasting in the PDP TV. Without any separate storage media, it is able to record HD-class broadcasting up to the maximum 13 hours and analog broadcasting up to 63 hours. This product also has the 'Time Machine' function that makes it possible to record broadcasting for one hour automatically right after switching on TV. Accordingly, customers are able to watch live TV broadcasting continuously even if they leave a place for a moment while watching. Consequently, the 'Time Machine' TV is gaining high popularity from customers, both at home and abroad. Among 50-inch TVs, LG Electronics will display the 55-inch single unit LCD TV that the electronics maker succeeded in commercializing for the first time in the world. The LCD TV equipped with 'KD Engine' can handle digital signals perfectly and implement the Full HD-class definition with the resolution of 1920X1080 (1080p). This product, boasting one of the world's top-tier advanced fringe field switching (AFFS) technologies of 178 degrees in four directions; right, left, up and down; enables customers to watch TV from any direction with a high definition image. In the DMB zone of LG Electronics, customers are able to directly experience a variety of services using DMB, including terrestrial/satellite DMB phones carrying innovative designs, 'Time Machine DMB phones,' which can record satellite DMB broadcasting for 60 minutes, and 12.1-ich high function notebook (LW20), which can receive terrestrial DMB based on the wireless Sonoma, a wireless LAN. In particular, the satellite DMB phone, 'LG-SB130/KB1300,'adopts the 'time machine' function to the mobile phone for the first time in the world. Accordingly, customers can watch TV broadcasting without losing just one second even if they have to receive an important call while watching the TV. If they install the 'time machine' function, customers are able to record broadcasting for up to 60 minutes. The DMB notebook, named the 'LW20,' is equipped with the 12.1-inch wide LCD and 3-watt high-power stereo speakers (1.5 watt X 2 speakers). It can be also used as a mobile theater. Despite the 12-inch class small size, it is equipped with the Pentium M 2.13GHz CPU and 1GB mass storage DDR2 memory and adopted highly glossy blue color suitable for young people. In terms of both design and function, it is a highly upgraded product. In the mobile phone zone, LG Electronics will introduce top-tier mobile phones carrying innovative designs and functions, including the 1 million poligonclass 3D game phone, which customers could not encounter in the market in the past. At the APEC IT Exhibition, LG Electronics will also display 10 new kinds of state-of-the-art products, heralding that it is a leading company in mobile phone technology. LG Electronics also plans to introduce the micro-miniature fashion music phone (LG-KP4700), which bolstered the MP3 function to make it possible for customers to search for songs through sound recognition. It is also equipped with the multitasking function, which enables users to send message in characters while listening to music. As this product adopts a necklace-type style, it can be used as a fashion item like a small-size MP3 player. It contains mass storage memory, so it is able to store up to 48 songs (one song is equivalent to 4MB) in it. It also supports external memory (TFlash) to maximize the extensible function. Moreover, LG Electronics is moving to introduce up-to-date PCs, DVD players and AV equipment carrying a home theater mixed-type new concept to visitors in the company's exhibition hall. Entertainment Center 'DV50' equipped with a digital TV tuner can be used as a set-top box. It also contains 160GB mass storage hard disk, enabling one to record, reproduce and copy the HD TV screen. This product contains digital AMP, so it can be used as a home theater connecting it with a speaker. In particular, it is equipped with the 'time machine' function. Accordingly, if customers leave a place for a while, while watching TV, they can stop the TV screen and reproduce it from the start of the record time. It is a next-generation AV product with which customers can buy products appearing on the TV screen by making connection with the Internet. LG Electronics is one of the four Korean companies, which will operate their exhibition halls during the APEC Summit to introduce their advanced IT technology and products to political and business leaders of the APEC member countries. The four companies are LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, KT and SK Telecom. Meanwhile, the Seoul government will separately operate eight exhibition pavilions with specific themes in Busan during the APEC Summit period to help foreign guests get an impression of Korea's IT technology at a glance.
