Lately, anyone walking on the street can easily notice handy gadgets like netbooks and smartphones at any time of day, particularly in the subway. They are becoming more entwined with our lives, and our life seems to revolve around them day in and day out.  Any necessary information is immediately accessible at any time. We can find and reach the information by looking at a crystal clear digital display which is generally composed of AMOLED, RETINA, LCD, NOVA, etc. Certainly, display technology is evolving. Recently, two major display manufacturers suffered a loss of confidential AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) technologies that are somewhat revolutionizing the market and are subsequently worth  millions of dollars. Amidst such fierce competition and enormous potentials, one Korean company has been contributing core components and materials to the industry.

Success and Technology

LMS

When LMS started in 1999, dedication to MRM(Micro Replication Manufacturing)-based R7D resulted in a defining success: the development of Prism Sheets for BLU(Back Light Unit) for TFT-LCD, which is the second time this has occurred in history. Since then, the company has been leading the small and medium prism sheet industry throughout the world. Also specializing in precision optical components, LMS, based on precision processing technology introduced Pick-Up Grating Lens and Blu-ray optical component for Dual LD G/T and next-generation storage.

Quality products guarantee customers’ trust, thanks to LMS’s three core manufacturing technologies: Micro Replication Manufacturing for mass production of components, Coating Technique with ultrathin coating using roll process, and synthesis technology for ultra electronic materials for display.

LMS Businesses

LMS has two business divisions: its display business division takes care of producing low-loss, high-efficiency luminance-enhanced film. The company also manufactures HLAS products, 3D Lenticular Lens, UV Imprinting LGP for LED TVs, Reverse Prism Sheet, and DLAS. As a core part of LCD Back Light, LMS’s HLAS can increase the luminance of LED or CCFL light source. It is halogen free and eco-friendly. Applications include mobile phones, MP3, PDA, tablet PCs, LCD TVs, etc.

The optical information business division produces small optical components based on MRM technology including gratings, wave plates, polarizing filters, and polarizing hologram devices.
