Casting is a 6,000 year old manufacturing process in which a liquid takes the shape of a predetermined mold. It begins when the liquid material, usually a melted one, is poured into the mold. Then, the liquid becomes solidified in it. To complete the process, the hardened part, which is also called “casting”, is broken or forced out of the mold.
