Communication/broa dcasting fusion to serve as a breach of IT industry Korea's Ministry of Information & Communication (MIC) has changed the ministry's slogan to "Dynamic u-Korea" with effect from the New Year. MIC minister Chin Dae-je was enthusiastic about the move, saying, "MIC will dash ahead to accomplish advanced Korea through information telecommunication by changing its slogan also to 'Dynamic u-Korea'", explaining that Korea has already become IT No. 1 country and Broadband IT Korea also was sufficiently accomplished. Minister Chin picked 'communication/ broadcasting fusion' as the challenge to be met first and foremost in the New Year and robot business as the most promising business sectors respectively. He underscored the importance of proactive steps by the government so that fusion services such as IPTV can pioneer new markets, adding that communication/broadcasting fusion service is a service to breach new barriers in the IT industry. With regard to the robot field, the minister commented that he sets great expectations on it, pointing out that robots is one of the fields Korea can excel in, since it is an industry that is possible by equipping it from set-up to parts/material, which Korea is wellsuited to.
