The history of the dog traced back to about 18,000 years ago and it is a domestic animal with the longest history among mammals. As the dog has seen the development of the life of mankind side-by-side, we can feel the image of a faithful friend from the dog. Accordingly, we expect that warm humane feelings will be filled in 2006, the Year of the Dog.
In 2006, various topics of conversation are awaiting us. The World Cup, which once made the Korean peninsula a festival place filled with excitement and pleasure in 2002, will reopen this year, attracting keen attention from the Korean people again. Politically, provincial elections will be held, confirming the direction of public sentiment. First of all, the economy, now in sluggishness, should gain strength again, improving the life of the people.
In the field of mobile communications, there is joyful news in 2006. The HSDPA service, which offers not only screen call but also high-speed data service, will begin in earnest, providing customers with state-of-the-art service. I am confident that Korea's top-level communication services will attract keen attention from foreigners in the Germany's World Cup.
In 2005, there were pleasant developments, but there were many gloomy things. Continuing feuds in the political circles, damages from disasters, controversies over study on stem cell, and youth unemployment have made our mind to be tough. In the New Year, I hope that our society is filled with harmony and virtue of sharing. I wish that all Korean people will "have a good time" and the domestic IT industry will enhance the status of Korea on the world stage.
