Invest Club sees new opportunities to lead growth of e-Trade and home security markets Invest Club aims to lead the e-trade and home security industry based on its high-quality products and customer-oriented strategy, Lee Sungmo, president of the company said. Invest Club has been focusing on brisk marketing activities aimed at companies possessing highquality technology or products and small and medium-sized companies facing difficulties in finding out buyers, he said.
E-trade has been rapidly globalized, away from the local retail and wholesale concept, and trade procedures have been simplified gradually, affected by Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), NAFTA and the EU. It also facilitates easy access to automatization programs. Accordingly, Invest Club plans to focus on its overseas marketing activities, including the United States, China, India, Brazil and Russia, he said. With differentiated strategy in terms of convenience, quality, confidence and safety, Invest Club will attract best companies as its members and attack high-class markets in the United States this year, he said. Through Martbiznet, it plans to engage in active marketing aimed at various consumers, including retail shops, in addition to existing large-scale trading companies. Invest Club will make best efforts to make ordering, settlement and delivery systems between countries easier than before, satisfying consumers' demands for buying domestic and foreign goods directly. Related to this, it will build a shopping mall where smallscale retailers and wholesalers to export or import goods directly through an electronics settlement system, he said. By continuously securing talented people and improving technology competitiveness, Invest Club will develop up-to-date products, including cyber trade automatic programs, solutions, IP-based video security equipment & solutions, and fingerprint recognition door lock. At the same time, it will exert all-out efforts to enhance technology competitiveness through active R&D investment and a technology center. To become a frontier enterprise opening an "online silk road," Invest Club is developing an e-market place, which enables enterprises to trade with foreign partners very easily, almost like trading at home. Through the e-market place, users can see their trading partner's factory in a foreign country at anytime easily, he explained. At present, it sells a great number of security cameras and fingerprint recognition door locks. In the future, Invest Club will graft such hardware onto e-market place, being reborn as a trade solution suitable for global trade environment under the FTA. This technology is the world's first and new technology, he said adding that the products will be more useful for traders in the future as e-Biz trend is spreading rapidly nowadays. Invest Club, which was inaugurated in 2001 as a trading company, developed global e-market place, which reflected knowhow of international trade. It is also an e-commerce web solution venture company, which signed a contract with World Trade Center (WTC) to exclusively supply trade-related web solutions by 2011. It produced online Martibiznet, which makes it possible to engage in international trade through online, optical sensor-type fingerprint recognition door lock, called Libero alpha, and IP based video security equipment and solution, dubbed seeQ on and exports the products to the United States, Japan, China, Brazil and other countries. At the same time, it is now carrying out eBiz-related government- sponsored projects with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Small and Medium Business Administration and three universities. Its total sales increased from 750 million won in 2003 to 6.1 billion won in 2004 and further to 6.4 billion won in 2005 and its net profits expanded from 80 million won to 160 million won and again to 170 million won during the corresponding period.
