Road Show Overview Hosted by the Korea Telematics Business Association (KOTBA), Home Network Association HNA), International Cooperation Agency (ICA) for KOREA IT and Dubai Internet City and supported by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) and Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI), the "2006 Telematics Road Show in Dubai" will be held on May 15~16 in Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dubai, UAE. Local companies are able to have the opportunity to meet advanced telematics and home network technologies and business models so that it can be applied to their own business through this road show which consists of conference, exhibition and 1 to 1 business meeting. IT-related companies around the world have been interested in MEGNA (Middle East, Gulf, North Africa) nations, which are a very rapidly emerging market with tremendous business opportunities. On the first day, the road show will focus on the overall status of IT industry including advanced telematics, Home Network and U-City a in the UAE and the role of the governments to promote support policies and businesses. Cooperation model between foreign companies and Dubai Internet City and market feasibility in the MEGNA also will be the main subjects in the morning session. And then conference will be divided into telematics and home network tracks, hot issues regarding telematics and home network around the world including Korea and the UAE will be presented and discussed. In the telematics track, global telematics business status, business model, technology development and collaboration with Middle East inclusive of UAE will be offered. In the home network track, development of home network solution and device and cooperation with telecommunication companies in Dubai will be suggested. On the second day, 16th of May, telematics and home network conference will be kept on. In the afternoon Korean companies and local companies will have business meetings to consider their cooperation programs and find out business opportunities. During the entire road show, Korean companies are to run their special promotion booth to show Korean telematics and home network service and technologies for all the attendees. Korean government has leaded telematics and home network business aggressively by designating them as national growth engines. Korean companies are trying to pioneer foreign market as well as domestic market, some viable outcome including cooperation and export with neighborhood countries like China already appeared. Dubai Road Show is being held for the third time, following Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Shanghai, China. International road show will be going on until 2007 twice a year to play a crucial role to lead Korean telematics companies to foreign markets.
