SEOUL, KOREA - Kia Motors announced on January 18 that it will release the K3 in overseas markets under the export name of the Cerato. Under the name of Cerato, the K3 will be released in South America, including Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, plus in Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and East Europe.
In North America and China, however, the K3 will be sold under the name of the Forte and the K3, respectively.
In the regions concerned, the Cerato has a high recognition as Kia has been selling its old model Forte under the name of the Cerato. In other words, the Cerato is a symbolic brand of Kia Motors’ compact cars.
Through a step-by-step launch of the K3 throughout the world, Kia Motors aims to sell 355,000 units of the K3 in foreign markets this year.
