SEOUL, KOREA - The Small and Medium Business Administration said on January 28 that it has selected 120 small-sized enterprises as part of its "2013 Project to Nurture Global Small-but-strong Companies" and would help them improve competitiveness in the world market.
The average export volume of the companies, including a wristwatch maker Romanson, is US$11.85 million, with the share of export to sales 47.5 percent and R&D spending share to sales 4.3 percent.
The companies will be given expert diagnosis on their business conditions and provided with government support according to their needs for up to three years until 2015.
The support programs include overseas marketing assistance (up to 300 million won for three years), trade facilitation (100 million won for three years), and export financing provided by the Small & Medium Business Corp. (to be increased to 3 billion won from current 1 billion won). In addition, the companies selected for government support will also receive privileged loans from commercial banks.

중소기업청(청장 송종호)과 중소기업진흥공단(이사장 박철규)은 중소기업이 세계 시장에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있도록 돕는 ‘2013년 글로벌 강소기업 육성사업’ 지원대상기업 120곳을 선정했다고 28일 발표했다.
손목시계 제조업체인 로만손을 비롯해 한경희생활과학, 대한잉크 등 이번에 선정된 기업들은 평균 수출액 1185만달러, 수출 비중 47.5%, 연구·개발 투자 비율 4.3% 등 성장 잠재력이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
이들 기업은 시장별·업종별 전문가의 역량 진단을 받은 뒤 글로벌 강소기업 성장계획에 따라 2015년까지 3년 동안 육성 프로그램에 참여하게 된다.
구체적으로 홈쇼핑용 동영상 제작 등 전용 해외 마케팅(3년 동안 1억원 한도), 무역 촉진단 파견 등의 연계지원 해외 마케팅(3년 동안 1억원 한도), 중진공의 수출 금융(한도 10억원에서 30억원으로 확대), 민간은행의 대출 우대 등 다방면에서 지원을 받는다.
