SEOUL, KOREA - BMW has emerged as the best-selling import car in Gangnam areas last year. German brands swept the top-three spots there, while Toyota was positioned at No. 4.According to a report of the 2012 trend of new car registrations in Seoul, compiled by the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), the most registered import car brand for Gangnam areas, covering the regions of Seocho, Gangnam, Songpa, and Yongsan, was BMW, followed by Benz and Volkswagen.
Even in the entire Seoul areas, BMW came on top last year, followed by Volkswagen and Benz. For 2012, 847 units of BMW were newly registered in Gangnam, followed by Seocho with 644, Songpa with 522, and Yongsan with 217.
Benz was positioned at No. 2 with its sales in Gangnam estimated at 787, followed by Seocho’s 549, and Yongsan’s 165.
