SEOUL, KOREA - Coffee Expo Seoul 2013 is to attract an estimated fifty thousand domestic and international buyers and exhibitors, alongside 500 coffee and tea-themed exhibition booths, when it opens its doors at Coex from April 11-14 2013. The trade show will act as platform for coffee businesses, buyers and enthusiasts as they gather in what is arguably becoming the coffee-drinking capital of the world, Seoul.

20130205coffeexpo.jpgSouth Korea’s coffee industry has exploded over the past half a decade, seeing an almost 900% rise in the number of coffee shops between 2006 and 2011, and a 1800% rise in national sales in the same period. Seoul now boasts the highest concentration of coffee shops on the globe, with over 10,000 cafes and coffee houses located in the capital alone.

Coffee Expo Seoul welcomed a massive 30,000 visitors upon its launch in 2012, alongside over 230 exhibition booths and 80 exhibiting companies. This year, those numbers are expected to more than double.

In addition to the many benefits for overseas visitors and exhibitors to the show, such as airfare discounts and translation assistance, Coffee Expo Seoul 2013 will offer incentives to international embassies and trade associations wishing to promote their countries’ coffee business in Korea. Coffee Expo Seoul 2013 will also see the hosting of the World Super Barista Championships, and a variety of educational coffee-related seminars.
