SEOUL, KOREA – Joining hands with NEC CASIO Mobile Communications, LG U + unveiled the “CASIO G'zOne,” a waterproof, shock-resistant LTE smartphone, on Monday. The waterproof CASIO G'zOne is rugged enough to work properly at the depth of 1.5 m for over 30 minutes. Besides, its display is made out of the protective Corning Gorilla Glass, which is known for being scratch and shock resilient.
On top of that, the CASIO G'zOne comes with the highest waterproof rating of IPX8 that permits continuous immersion in water and is the first domestically available smartphone that meets the same standard as MIL-SPECs for shock.
The G'zOne will come in handy for outdoor activity lovers like swimmers, hikers, joggers and anglers. The G'zOne features outdoor activity apps (e.g. social maps mainly for outdoor activities) and high-power twin speakers designed to juice up leisure activities.
An official from LG U + said, “As the number of people enjoying outdoor activities has risen steeply, we have released the G'zOne to meet new customer demands. We will continue to release strategically designed terminals like the G'zOne to provide customers with specialized services.”

LG유플러스(대표 이상철)는 NEC 카시오모바일커뮤니케이션즈(대표 타무라 요시하루)와 손잡고 세계 최고 수준의 방수 성능과 충격흡수 기능을 갖춘 LTE 스마트폰 카시오 `지즈원`을 18일 출시했다.
지즈원은 스마트폰 고장의 주요 원인인 침수를 방지하기 위해 입•출력 단자와 배터리 덮개를 특수 패킹기술로 마감 처리해 수심 1.5m에서도 30분 이상 사용할 수 있도록 설계됐다. 지즈원은 또 강한 강도를 가진 특수 재질의 충격 완화 범퍼와 스크래치와 손상에 강한 코닝 강화유리를 사용해 스마트폰을 떨어뜨렸을 때 충격으로 인한 기기 파손을 최소화하도록 개발됐다.
지즈원 방수기능은 세계 방수규격 가운데 최고 방수등급(IPX8) 수준이고 충격흡수 기능도 국내 스마트폰 최초로 미국 국방 표준규격(MIL)과 동일한 기준을 통과했다.
지즈원 이용고객들은 수영, 등산, 조깅, 낚시 등 레저 활동 시에도 침수나 외부 충격으로 인한 파손 걱정 없이 스마트폰을 이용할 수 있다. 아웃도어 활동에 특화된 소셜맵 등 전용 앱과 고출력 트윈 스피커도 탑재해 레저 활동에 유용하다.
