SEOUL, KOREA – LumiRich, a Korean company specializing in LED lighting products, has set out to expand its share of the Japanese and US markets by launching a new LED light flaunting the world’s highest luminance efficiency.
LumiRich, an affiliate of the ILJIN Group, said Tuesday that it will begin the sale of the 151㏐/W LED lamp with a built-in converter next month, which can replace existing fluorescent lights and other light bulbs. The efficiency of LumiRich’s 151㏐/W LED lamp with a built-in converter is more than twice higher than that of existing fluorescent lights, so energy consumption can be lowered by as much as 62.5%.
The efficiency of LumiRich’s 151㏐/W LED lamp has far exceeded the domestic criteria (over 70lm/W) for high-efficiency energy apparatus certification for LED lights. Enhancing the efficiency of LED lights with a built-in converter is technically difficult, so the base line has been set at 70lm/W. LumiRich’s 151㏐/W LED lamp also addresses problems with flickering.
Releasing this LED light, LumiRich looks to aggressively take on the Japanese and US markets. It also plans to unveil a 170㏐/W model within this year.

루미리치, 세계 최고 광효율 LED 조명 출시…美•日 시장 공략 가속
일진그룹 발광다이오드(LED) 조명업체 루미리치(대표 김하철)가 세계 최고 수준 광효율 제품을 출시하고 일본과 미국 시장 점유율 확대에 나선다.
루미리치는 기존 형광등과 벌브형 조명을 대체할 수 있는 광효율 151㏐/W의 컨버터 내장형 LED 조명을 다음 달부터 판매한다고 19일 밝혔다. 기존 가정•사무실에서 사용하는 형광등보다 광효율이 2배 이상 높아 전력 소비를 최대 62.5% 절약할 수 있다.
국내 고효율에너지기자재인증 기준(70lm/W)보다도 2배 이상 광효율을 끌어올렸다. 정부는 형광등 광효율 수준에 맞춰 LED 조명의 고효율기자재 인증 기준을 만들었다. 컨버터 내장형 LED 조명은 기술적으로 광효율 향상이 어려워 기준이 70㏐/W 정도다. 컨버터 외장형은 90㏐/W다. 주파수 50㎐ 영역에서 조명이 깜박거리는 현상인 플리커(Flicker) 문제도 해결했다. 플리커는 광 민감성 발작이나 불안, 두통 등을 초래할 수 있어 세계적으로 규제가 강화되는 추세다.
루미리치는 이번 제품으로 일본과 미국 시장을 적극 공략한다는 계획이다. 연내 170㏐/W 제품을 출시하는 한편, 200㏐/W 제품 개발에 역량을 집중해 세계적인 LED 조명 업체로 발돋움 한다는 목표다.
김하철 사장은 “이번 제품 출시로 경쟁사와의 기술 격차를 더 벌렸다”며 “4월부터 일본에서 판매를 시작하는 한편 마케팅에 집중해 글로벌 조명업체에 OEM, ODM으로 독점 공급할 계획”이라고 말했다.
