SEOUL, KOREA – SK Planet, a subsidiary of SK telecom, said Wednesday it has completed the building of its car diagnostic platform in China and started to offer services. In partnership with China Telecom and Tian You Xing (a Chinese operator of commercial vehicle LED advertising), SK Planet has commercialized its car diagnostic service in Hubei Province.
SK Planet’s car diagnostic platform offers five different services (vehicle-related data monitoring, real-time detection of vehicle malfunctions, informing the driver of auto parts replacement schedules, detailed driving records and green driving) via smartphones.
To use SK Planet’s car diagnostic platform, optimized for the Chinese market, drivers should install SK Planet’s own wireless auto diagnostic device in their cars.
SK Planet’s own wireless car diagnostic device will be supplied to the Chinese market through Tian You Xing, which plans to expand its marketing activities for SK Planet’s car diagnostic platform to attract other Chinese mobile carriers, insurers and car distributors.

SK플래닛, 중국 최초 차량진단 플랫폼 상용 서비스 개시
SK플래닛이 중국내 차량진단 플랫폼 구축을 완료하고 서비스를 시작했다고 3일 밝혔다.
SK플래닛은 중국 국영통신업체 `차이나텔레콤`, 상업차량용 LED 광고운영사 `티엔위싱(천우성교통과학기술발전회사)`과 업무협력을 통해 중국 후베이성 지역에서 차량진단 서비스를 상용화 했다.
SK플래닛 차량진단 플랫폼은 자체 개발한 무선 진단기를 차량에 부착해 △예측관리(차량 관련 데이터 모니터링) △고장검측(차량이상과 고장 실시간 알림) △차량소모품교체시기안내 △통행기록(상세 통행기록 및 운행 상황판단) △녹색운전(친환경 운전 가이드) 등 5개 서비스를 스마트폰으로 제공한다.
SK플래닛은 중국 시장에 최적화된 진단 플랫폼을 구축했다. 차량용 무선 진단기 지원 대상을 중국 내수 차종을 포함해 대폭 확대하고, 고객용 스마트폰 애플리케이션, 기업용 고객 관리 웹 서비스를 중국 고객 입맛에 맞도록 현지화했다.
SK플래닛 차량진단기는 티엔위싱을 통해 중국에 공급된다. 티엔위싱은 차이나텔레콤 등 이동통신사와 보험사, 자동차 유통업체를 대상으로 판매 영역을 확대할 계획이다.
차이나텔레콤은 3일 중국 후베이성 우한시에서 차이나텔레콤 스마트폰 구매 고객에게 SK플래닛의 차량진단서비스를 함께 제공하는 신규 상품 출시 행사를 갖고 본격적인 서비스 알리기에 나섰다.
김장욱 SK플래닛 LBS 사업부장은 “국내에서 쌓아온 노하우와 기술력을 기반으로 중국 현지에 최적화 된 서비스 플랫폼을 출시했다”며 “중국에서 LBS 서비스를 구현할 수 있는 기반을 만들어 T맵 수준의 독보적인 교통정보플랫폼을 구축할 것”이라고 말했다.
