SEOUL, KOREA – On Monday, iriver released the iriver ULALA 5, an affordable smartphone priced at below KRW 300,000. The iriver ULALA 5 is iriver’s second smartphone; its first smartphone “ULALA,” which was retailed at about KRW 100,000 with entirely low-end specs across the board, went on sale in January of this year.
The iriver ULALA 5 comes with a 5-inch IPS display, a 1㎓ dual core processor and an optimized multi-tasking environment. Since it is powered by the Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it promises sustainability and a decent speed. Two 2000mAh batteries come along. Just like its predecessor ULALA, the iriver ULALA 5 has the dual SIM function, so there is no need to use expensive roaming services abroad. Users can simply buy a local SIM card to use their smartphones at low call rates. An 8 megapixel camera is placed on the back with a 300,000 pixel camera on the front. Furthermore, the iriver ULALA 5 has a micro SD card slot, so memory expansion is possible.
As for its design, the iriver ULALA 5 sports minimalism and its rounded edge helps with the grip in the hand. The iriver ULALA 5 is retailed at KRW 278,000.

20만원대 5인치 스마트폰 '울랄라5' 성공할까
아이리버(대표 박일환)가 20만원대 스마트폰 `아이리버 울랄라(ULALA)5`를 8일 출시했다.
울랄라5는 아이리버가 지난 1월 출시한 10만원대 자급제 스마트폰 울랄라(ULALA)에 이어 두 번째로 출시한 스마트폰이다. 아이리버는 울랄라5 출시에 맞춰 G마켓과 단독으로 오는 15일까지 론칭 이벤트를 진행한다.
울랄라5는 5인치 광시야각 디스플레이를 탑재해 어느 각도에서나 선명한 색감을 구현하고 1㎓ 듀얼코어 프로세서로 빠른 구동과 최적화된 멀티태스킹 환경을 제공한다. 구글 안드로이드 4.1 젤리빈 운용체계(OS)를 탑재해 높은 안정성과 속도를 지원한다. 배터리는 2000mAh 용량 제품을 2개 제공한다. 전작과 마찬가지로 듀얼 심(SIM) 기능을 탑재해 해외에서도 현지 SIM카드 구입으로 로밍을 하지 않아도 저렴한 요금으로 스마트폰을 사용할 수 있다. 카메라는 후면 800만, 전면 30만화소 카메라를 탑재했고 마이크로SD 카드 슬롯이 있어 메모리 확장이 가능하다.
아이리버의 미니멀리즘한 디자인이 돋보이며, 부드러운 그립감을 높이기 위해 라운딩 형태로 디자인했다.
소비자가는 27만8000원이다. G마켓 단독 론칭 이벤트를 통해 구매자 전원에게 PC와 스마트폰에서 모두 사용할 수 있는 USB 8GB와 마이크로SD 카드 16GB(4만원 상당)를 선물한다. 또 포토 상품평 이벤트를 통해 선착순 100명에게 스마트 기기 케이스 전문 업체 포레스트 그린에서 제작한 전용 케이스(3만원 상당)도 증정한다.
