Seoul, Korea - According to the ‘2012 Actual and 2013 Plan for Vendor Support by Top 30 Companies’ survey conducted by SME Cooperation Center of Federation of the Korean Industries (FKI), the top 30 companies have allocated KRW 1.6 trillion for the support of their vendors, which is increased by 3.8% from the last year’s actual support.
The allocated budget for this year is expected to be used to strengthen the competitiveness of vendors by supporting HR development, R&D and productivity enhancement. The support for HR development rose by 19.3%, R&D by 8.9% and productivity by 7.6%, year-on-year. The three categories together took 47.5% of total vendor support this year, followed by procurement support (28.9%), financial guarantee and loan support (17.4%) and co-expansion to overseas (6.2%).
The actual support given by the top 30 companies last year was 1.4% higher than the previous year, 2011. The Cooperation Center commented the increase despite slumping economy was a sign of major large companies putting emphasis on the joint growth.
In fact, major Chabols implemented a variety of joint growth programs last year. Samsung Electronics added 25 more SMEs to its list of ‘Innovative Technology Company Council’ launched in 2010 and provided technical innovation opportunities in the form of new product development support and joint technical development.

30대 그룹이 올해 협력사에 1조6156억원을 지원한다. 전경련 중소기업협력센터가 조사한 `30대 그룹의 2012년 협력사 지원 실적 및 2013년 지원계획`에 따르면 30대 그룹은 지난해 1조5571억원보다 3.8% 늘린 1조6156억원을 지원할 예정이다.
올해 30대 그룹 협력사 지원은 주로 인재 양성, 연구개발(R&D), 생산성 향상 등 협력사 경쟁력 강화에 집중될 것으로 보인다. 인재 양성 분야 지원은 전년보다 19.3% 늘었고, R&D는 8.9%, 생산성 향상은 7.6% 늘어나는 등 2~5배 높았다. 올해 협력사 지원총액에서 이들 세 분야가 차지하는 비중은 47.5%며, 그 뒤를 이어 판매•구매 지원(28.9%), 보증•대출 지원(17.4%), 해외 동반진출(6.2%) 순으로 나타났다.
작년 30대 그룹 협력사 지원실적은 2011년도 1조5356억원에서 215억원(1.4%) 늘었다. 협력센터는 경기침체에도 불구하고, 작년 협력사 지원 실적이 늘어난 것은 주요 대기업들이 동반성장에 많은 노력을 한 덕분이라고 평가했다.
실제로 삼성전자, 현대자동차, SK텔레콤, LG전자, 포스코 등 주요 기업은 작년 다양한 동반성장 프로그램을 추진했다. 삼성전자는 2010년 발족한 `혁신기술기업협의회` 참여업체를 작년 25개 중소기업으로 늘리고, 이들 협력사에 신제품 개발 지원, 공동기술개발 등 기술혁신기회를 제공했다.
현대자동차도 작년 서울, 광주, 대구에서 총 세 차례 걸쳐 1차 협력사 305개사가 참여하는 협력사 채용박람회를 개최해 1만5000여명의 채용을 지원했다. SK텔레콤도 연구시설이나 시험장비가 부족해 어려움을 겪는 협력사를 위해 작년 6월 약 44억원을 투자해 종합기술원에 `T오픈 랩`을 개관했다.
LG전자도 작년 4월 한국수출입은행과 상생협약을 체결하고 해외 동반 진출한 협력사에 최고 0.5%p의 우대금리 지원으로 금융비용을 절감해주고 있다. 포스코도 `벤처파트너스 프로그램`을 작년 1월 도입해 벤처기업들에 전문가 멘토링 등을 통한 사업화 지원, `아이디어 마켓 플레이스`와 연계한 투자유치 기회를 제공했다.
전익주 협력 센터 팀장은 “대내외적으로 불확실한 경영환경으로 올해 협력사 지원계획을 보수적으로 잡은 기업들이 있지만 앞으로 경기가 회복되면 올해 협력사 지원실적은 당초계획보다 더 늘어날 것”으로 전망했다.
