The Game Show and Trade, All-Round (G 2006) will be held at Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province on Nov. 9-12.
As of September 29, 1,400 booths are occupied by local and foreign companies. The international game show, organized by the G organizing committee, is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) and the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC). The target number of booths revealed by the G organizing committee is 2,000. At present, about 85 percent of the target has been attained. If this trend continues, all booths are likely to be fully occupied within October.
By platform, among online companies are Nexon, Neowiz, Sonokong, Ntreev Soft, WEBZEN, Wemade Entertainment, Hanvit Soft, JC Entertainment and NC Soft. Among mobile game companies are Com2us, OLARKS, and E3net. Sega, Adven Technologies are to participate in the game show as arcade companies. Also, such relevant institutions as Seoul Business Agency and Kyeonggi Digital Contents promotion Agency and peripheral companies, including Seven Data and Solmaze, are scheduled to attend the show.
At the same time 18 foreign companies, including Sega, BANDAI, Vivendi Games, 9YOU, Silicon Studio, Extravision Entertainment, Asia Soft, and ATI, completed their applications for the international game show.
In addition, dozens of educational institutions, including Sogang University, Hongik University and Hallym University, made applications to participate in the game show, showing their keen interest in the G 2006.
Approximately 160,000 people including government officials, executives and staff, and experts in the game industry are expected to visit the exhibition occupying 53,541 square meters.
G 2006 is an international market place for games, where A to Z games are on display. It is a global game show featuring the hottest and the latest in online and mobile games, which are expected to become the leading growth sectors in the game market.
Chung Moon-kyung, director of the G organizing committee said that the G will develop into the world's biggest game exhibition in the near future thanks to persistent interest in the show by the government and relevant institutions as well as local and foreign major game makers.
