SEOUL, KOREA – A Korean company has domestically developed a hardware-based full-HD video conferencing total solution for the first time in Korea. The Korean video conferencing equipment market has been dominated by foreign makers such as Cisco and Polycom. The domestic video equipment market is estimated at KRW 150 million.
AddPac Technology said Tuesday it will officially launch its full-HD video conferencing (1920x1080) equipment “AP-HDC” Series in Korea. AddPac’s video conferencing equipment has already been introduced to other nations like Russia, Nigeria and Singapore, so AddPac will spur on its efforts to make forays into overseas markets.
AddPac independently developed hardware-based codecs (video compression / decompression), input/output interfaces, voice microphones, MCUs (Multipoint Control Unit) and user interfaces.
Linked to MCU equipment that delivers a 16-split screen function, “AP-HDC” Series enables multi-party video conferencing as well as the channel-to-channel transmission of documents. On top of that, “AP-HDC” Series can offer a variety of customized services with being synced to AddPac’s IPT (Internet Protocol Telephony) and VoD (video on demanding) solutions.

"국산 풀 HD급 영상회의 장비 나왔다" 애드팍, 하드웨어 토탈 솔루션 공급
하드웨어 기반 풀(Full) HD급 영상회의 토털 솔루션이 처음 국산화됐다. 시스코•폴리콤 등 외산업체가 장악한 국내 시장에서 수입대체 효과가 기대된다. 국내 영상장비 시장은 1500억원 규모로 추산된다.
애드팍테크놀러지는 풀 HD급 영상회의(1920x1080) 장비 `AP-HDC` 시리즈를 국내 정식 출시한다고 16일 밝혔다. 이 회사는 이미 러시아, 나이지리아, 싱가포르 등에 구축 사례를 확보해 수출에 박차를 가할 계획이다.
카메라 일체형으로 하드웨어 기반 코덱(영상 압축/해독기), 입출력 인터페이스, 음성마이크, 다자간영상회의플랫폼(MCU), 유저인터페이스(UI)를 직접 개발했다.
디지털신호처리프로세서(DSP)와 렌즈를 제외한 나머지 부분을 모두 국내 기술로 설계한 것이다. 외장 케이스 역시 자체 금형을 확보해 주문 즉시 생산이 가능한 체계를 갖췄다.
16화면 이상 분할이 가능한 MCU 장비와 연동해 다자간 회의는 물론이고 채널별 문서 전달이 가능하다. 회사가 기존 출시한 인터넷전화(IPT), VoD 솔루션과 연동해 고객 요구에 맞춰 다양한 부가서비스를 만들 수 있는 것도 장점이다.
애드팍테크놀러지 관계자는 “일체형 하드웨어 영상회의 장비를 국산화한 것은 처음”이라며 “HD급 영상을 초당 30프레임 수준으로 처리해 글로벌 제품 못지않은 경쟁력을 갖췄다”고 설명했다.
현재 국내 영상회의장비 시장은 폴리콤과 시스코(구 텐드버그) 등 글로벌 대형 업체 위주로 형상돼 있다. 국산은 소프트웨어 기반으로 개발된 소수 솔루션을 제외하면 사실상 전무한 상태다.
정부청사 등 대형 사이트가 하드웨어 타입 영상회의 장비를 선호해 그동안 국산 솔루션은 진입이 어려웠다. 국내에서는 올해 공공기관 지방이전, 스마트워크 등 관련 시장이 활성화 할 것으로 전망된다.
애드팍테크놀러지는 국방, 치안, 지방자치단체 등 공공기관을 중심으로 영업을 강화할 계획이다.
박수열 애드팍테크놀러지 사장은 “토털 영상회의 시스템 공급이 가능한 유일한 국내회사로 기존 IPT 라인업과 함께 시너지를 발휘할 것”이라며 “국산 기술로 한 차원 높은 비디오 콘퍼런싱 솔루션 경험을 고객에게 제공하겠다”고 밝혔다.
