Leading enterprise of ubiquitous age representing IT power in Korea

Korea Telecom (www.kt.co.kr) will provide each country's governmental officials and staple VIPs with global business opportunity enlargement at the ITU Telecom World 2006. The conference will be held in Hong Kong from December 4 to 8, 2006.

KT officials said that the company has a 378 square meter booth, similar to the 2003 Swiss Exhibition. Its goal is group publicity synergy by operating a joint booth with KTF.

The company's basic concept is Ubiquitous Life Partner KT/KTF according to KT officials. They note that in this forthcoming December ITU Telecom, KT will introduce more free and convenient life visions and Ubiquitous group KT Group's companion role in a U-City, constructed with cutting-edge integrated network technology.

These officials explained that the company will attach importance to beefing up business publicity with KT Group's wired and wireless integration network, introducing a world-class IPmedia as well as a Portable Internet service commercialized for the first time globally.

KT's exhibition service content includes portable Internet services, voice recognition technologies, mobile commerce services, intelligent-model RFID-equipped railroad stations, HSDPA services, IPTV, networked robots, bizmeka, CellTREK, Managed PCs, and an ASP platform.

According to the company's ITU 2006 operation plan, KT's exhibition space consists of an Experience Zone, Display Zone, Event Zone, and Business Zone.

The Experience Zone stages an outdoor park in which users can enjoy portable Internet on the move, constructs a futuremodel clothes shop which is operated with a form of wine shop as well as unmanned shop, and actualizes a Street which links together the Park, Mall, Metro and Home.

As to the character of the ITU Telecom World 2006 Hong Kong, KT side said: "IT technology development strategy as well as vision deduction about new technology field are possible and exhibition visitors can confirm cutting-edge technology presentation as well as this actualization possibilities. The Exhibition supervised by ITU is the largest telecommunication field exhibition in the world. ITU runs a parallel forum and new technology to discuss Global IT technology development. It is said that the exhibition took place in Geneva, Switzerland every four years until 2003, but starting from 2006 it will take place every three years. KT said that visitors will number approximately 100,000 persons from 700 companies of forty countries.
