Putting the world in your hands

If you are more of the multimedia/video type, the Samsung Ultra Video will definitely appeal to you. The Ultra Video comes with all of the technical bells and whistles, like a two megapixel camera, Bluetooth and various mobile office tools.

But it's also the first phone to support the DivX codec. For those not so technically inclined, that means it will support one of the most popular formats of online video. So whatever content you've managed to get your hands on, the Ultra Video will play it, which is a nice change.

But what sets the Ultra Video apart is its unique ergonomics. Like the Ultra Music, it's got dual faces. One side contains the phone while the other contains a large screen and intuitive controls for multimedia. So no more downloading videos only to squint at a tiny unwatchable screen. And you actually use both faces at the same time.

But the designers at Samsung took it even further with an insightful swivel design. The screen swivels away from the controls so you can adjust the viewing angle or even set it down to stand while you watch.

Combine all of these and you get more than a phone that can play video. You get a true multimedia device.

The technical features of the Ultra start with a slim design at 116.5x50x10.7mm. It also includes a 2 megapixel camera. It has support for mp3, ACC, ACC+, e-ACC+, and WMA audio formats. It includes support for DivX, MPEG-4, H.264, and WMV video formats. It has a self-standing swivel screen which is a 2.3 inch TFT LCD. It has external microSD memory and is Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 compatible.

These days people are asking them to do a lot more, from sending text messages to taking pictures to playing music or acting as a virtual office.
