SEOUL, KOREA – South Korea-based game studio L&K has joined hands with Japanese game publisher Gamepot to launch its online shooter RPG “Mirror War - Reincarnation of Holiness” in Japan.
This is Mirror War’s second overseas market entry following its export to Indonesia in February.
Gamepot has been offering South Korean online games to the Japanese market, such as Pangya, Cabal Online and Latale. Gamepot has recently set up Gamepot Korea and supplied its independently-developed game “Dragon Guild” to Daum Communications.
Ueda Shuhei, CEO of Gamepot said, “L&K’s previous games made a good showing in the Japanese online game market and this company knows much about the characteristics of Japanese gamers. We want to provide Japanese gamers with wholly different surprises and excitement by introducing the new-concept shooter RPG “Mirror War - Reincarnation of Holiness.”

엘엔케이, 일본 게임팟과 `거울전쟁` 퍼블리싱 계약
엘엔케이로직코리아(대표 남택원)가 일본 온라인게임업체 게임팟과 손잡고 온라인 슈팅 롤플레잉게임(RPG) `거울전쟁-신성부활`로 일본 시장 공략에 나선다.
거울전쟁의 일본 진출은 지난 2월 크레온과 손잡고 인도네시아 시장에 진출한 데 이어 두 번째 수출이다.
게임팟은 `팡야` `카발 온라인` `라테일` 등 한국 온라인 게임을 일본에서 서비스하고 있다. 최근 한국지사를 설립하고 일본에서 자체 개발한 `드래곤길드`를 다음커뮤니케이션에 공급하기도 했다.
우에다 슈헤이 게임팟 대표는 “엘엔케이는 일본 온라인 게임 시장에서 우수한 성과를 거둔 경험이 있고 사용자 특성을 잘 파악하고 있다”며 “슈팅RPG라는 새로운 장르의 거울전쟁으로 지금까지와는 다른 색다른 놀라움과 감동을 전하고 싶다”고 말했다.
거울전쟁은 국내에선 지난해 8월 서비스를 시작했으며 마지막 종족인 `악령군`을 올 여름 시즌에 업데이트할 예정이다. 일본에서는 내년 중 서비스를 시작할 계획이다.
