SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Mobis ranked No. 8 among the world’s major auto parts makers for two straight years. The company was positioned at No. 8 in the world’s top-100 OEM auto parts supplier ranking selected by U.S. auto magazine Automotive News. Hyundai Mobis has maintained its No. 8 position for two consecutive years since last year.
According to the auto magazine, Hyundai Mobis sold $21.35 billion worth of auto parts on an OEM basis last year. The auto parts supplier ranks by Automotive News is based on sales volume.
Hyundai Mobis saw its sales rise by 13.2 percent last year compared to the previous year’s $18.86 billion. The share of Asia, including South Korea, took up the largest portion of 67 percent, followed by the U.S. with 22 percent and Europe with 11 percent.
Following Hyundai Mobis among Korea’s auto parts suppliers was Hyundai Wia which was positioned at No. 38, followed by Mando (46th), Hyundai Powertech (70th), and Hyundai-Dymos (90th).
The top-five ranks remain unchanged. Germany’s Robert Bosch GmbH came on top, followed by Japan’s Denso, Germany’s Continental AG, Canada’s Magna International, and Japan’s Aisin Seiki.
