The Ministry of Information and Communication pushes hard to support the expansion of E-Government Systems overseas. Government sectors, supporting organizations, and software companies together formed a support group to earn contracts and the very first group will be dispatched to Vietnam and Indonesia.
The first support group's participants are 23 representatives of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Korean Industrial Property Office, Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency, Export-Import Bank of Korea, LG CNS, Hyundai Information and Technology, POSDATA, and KL Net. This is the largest number of members since a support group was sent overseas to sign a contract in 2003.
The government has been doing research to find suitable export products for thirty countries since May and came up with a plan in 6 areas to reach overseas. Seeing Vietnam and Indonesia's fast growth in the information market and their high possibility to enter the Korean market, a support group has been dispatched for the first time. Other groups of supporters will be dispatched to Africa and Central and South America. Here a conference will be held to create partnership businesses with the World Bank and international development banks and promote an ICT Trust Fund. A supporting group will first land in Vietnam from the 16th to 19th of September and move over to Indonesia from the 19th to 21st, coming back on the 22nd.
