SEOUL, KOREA – South Korea-based game publisher Gamevil said Monday that it has surpassed 300 million downloads in the global smartphone game market, adding another 100 million downloads in 7 months to the 200 million mark broken in December of last year.
Gamevil has a number of titles boasting over 10 million downloads under its belt and has seen its games in various genres making a good showing in the global open market.
Gamevil explained that the growth of GAMEVIL CIRCLE, an independent, integrated global mobile game service platform, played a pivotal role in raising the number of downloads.
Gamevil’s games that topped 10 million downloads include fishing game “Fishing Master.” A slew of new games have been launched such as Dark Avenger and Moriah Saga along with steady sellers like Air Penguin, Punch Hero, the Zenonia series and the Cartoon Wars series.

게임빌(대표 송병준)은 세계 스마트폰 게임 시장에서 3억건의 누적 다운로드를 돌파했다고 15일 밝혔다.
지난해 12월 2억건 다운로드를 기록한 후 7개월 만에 1억건을 추가해 가파른 성장세를 이어갔다. 1000만 다운로드 타이틀을 다수 보유했고 다양한 장르의 게임이 국경 없이 세계 오픈마켓에서 고르게 활약하는 점도 주목할 만하다고 회사 측은 덧붙였다.
게임빌은 독자적인 글로벌 모바일게임 서비스 통합 플랫폼인 `게임빌 서클(GAMEVIL CIRCLE)`의 성장이 주효하다고 분석했다. 방대한 사용자 층에 신작 게임을 초반부터 다각도로 노출하고 자사 게임 간 유기적 프로모션을 진행해 글로벌 모바일 게임업체를 상대로 경쟁력을 충분히 높이고 있다는 분석이다. 라이트 사용자 층이 아닌 이미 게임을 즐기고 있는 타깃층에 신작을 끊임없이 노출하고 있어 선순환 효과를 누렸다는 평가다.
최근 1000만 다운로드를 돌파한 낚시게임 `피싱마스터`를 포함해 다수 히트작이 최소 1000만 다운로드에서 최대 5500만 다운로드까지 달성하며 이끌어낸 결과다. `에어펭귄` `펀치히어로` `제노니아 시리즈` `프로야구 시리즈` `카툰워즈 시리즈` 등의 스테디셀러에 `다크어벤저` `모리아사가` 등 강력한 신작을 속속 추가한 점도 고무적이다.
