The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Seoul feted the country's 16th Anniversary of the Independence Day on August 29 at the Millennium Seoul Hilton. Touching upon that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technological fields demonstrate positive tendencies for the last 16 years, Ambassador Vitali V. Fen said: "The economy of our country attracted foreign investments worth more than US$20 billion, out of which the volume of Korean investments comprises today more than US$1.5 billion."
An Archipelago with Cultural Diversity
A cultural night to commemorate the 62nd Indonesia Independence Day on August 17 was a good place to be able to confirm that Indonesia possesses a very diverse culture. The Indonesian Night included a variety of cultural performances and was hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia at the Hotel Shilla that day. Accession of the Throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
On July 30th of each year, the Moroccan people celebrate the accession of the throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who acceded on that day to the throne of his forefather of the Sherifian Alawite Dynasty. Portugal's Assumption of the Presidency of the European Union
On the occasion of Portugal's assumption of the presidency of the European Union on July 1, Portuguese Ambassador to Seoul Henrique Borges held a congratulating reception on July 5 evening at the Grand Hyatt Seoul while on the other hand commemorating the Day of Portugal on June 10. On the economic dimension, the Portuguese presidency gives special emphasis to the development of tourism and the economy of culture. Portugal will host a European cultural forum and a European tourism forum, he said.

To Celebrate Malaysia's Golden Anniversary of Independence and the 74th Anniversary of the formation of the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Ambassador of Malaysia and Datin Marie Santaananaban held a commemorating reception at the Emerald Room of the Shilla Hotel Seoul. UK Ambassador Warwick Morris, Greek Ambassador Constantin Drakakis, Russia Ambassador Gleb A. Ivashentsov and Saudi Ambassador Abdullah A. Al-AIFan among others of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps showed their diplomatic friendship by attending.
