The Samsung delegation led by Jung Yeon-Ju of Samsung C&T visited Hanoi on September 30 and met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to discuss ways to expand cooperative relationship. The delegation also met with Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Trung to sign a comprehensive agreement in wide-ranging areas of electric utility, urban development, airport construction, and public sector info-tech infrastructure.
In addition, Samsung Economic Research Institute and Development Strategy Institute, a think tank under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, held a joint seminar to discuss Korea's economic development model and its possible application to Vietnamese case.
With the latest pact with the Vietnamese government, Samsung Group will actively participate in projects that the government is pursuing, such as the 1,200-megawatt thermal power plant construction and the Hanoi urban development project.
