SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics' strategic smartphone model Galaxy S4 turned out to have been sold more than 40 million units in the global markets. Unlike the market concerns that the sales of the Galaxy S4 would be more sluggish than expected, the Galaxy S4 is selling at a faster pace than its previous model Galaxy S3.
Shin Jong-Kyun, IT & Mobile president at Samsung Electronics, said, "The cumulative sales of Galaxy S4 passed the 40 million mark."
The Galaxy S4, which started being sold in major markets, including Korea, the U.S. and Europe, in April, passed the 10-million level in sales in just one month and the 40-million milestone in six months.
The sales pace of the Galaxy S4 is faster than its previous model Galaxy S3 which took seven months to pass the 4- million mark in sales.
