SEOUL, KOREA - Daum Communication announced on November 8 that it achieved sales of 129.7 billion won and operating profit of 20.2 billion won for the third quarter of this year. Sales grew by 18.5 percent year on year thanks to an increase in search advertising sales and the growth of mobile advertising. Operating profit, however, fell by 8.8 percent from a year ago.
For the third quarter, Daum’s search ad sales grew by 43.8 percent from the same period last year to 64.1 billion won on the back of an increase in sales of network business, and the growth in mobile search advertising.
Despite lack of large-scale events like Olympics and the economic slump, display advertising sales rose by 1.4 percent to 55.5 billion won thanks to the growth of mobile display advertising platform Adam, plus the sales of TNK Factory which became reflected as consolidated sales from the third quarter. Game sales also grew by 11.3 percent to 8.5 billion won.
