SEOUL, KOREA - Korea’s DRAM makers, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, grabbed a share of 67.7 percent in the global DRAM market in the third quarter of this year.
According to the analysis of DRAM sales trend for the third quarter, conducted by a market research firm DRAM Exchange, Korean companies achieved US$6.1 billion in DRAM sales during the period, with their global market share estimated at 67.7 percent, up 5 percentage points from 62.7 percent a quarter ago.
Samsung Electronics came on top with its DRAM sales estimated at $3.4 billion and its market share estimated at 37.1 percent, followed by SK Hynix which marked $2.6 billion in DRAM sales and recorded a market share of 28.5 percent.
Samsung Electronics marked a 4.4 percentage point increase in market share compared to a quarter ago, but SK Hynix suffered a 1.5 percentage point decline.
