The two ministers finalized the cooperative relations as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to help Azerbaijan build an e-Government. The MOU came after the presidents of the two countries had a summit talks in the Blue House, the presidential office.
As the MOU was signed, the two countries are expected to exchange manpower and programs to enhance mutual cooperation in such fields as standardization of software programs for e-Government, information security, public key identification, national identification information and e-Signatures.
The two countries will also work together to have a working-level talks on ways to exchange experts and to hold exhibitions, seminars and symposiums on IT.
Meanwhile, South Korea had already finished a feasibility study to help Azerbaijan to build e-Government, e-Signatures and computerized custom procedures for which Azerbaijan has long cherished.
The MOU, which will be a springboard for the two countries to cement relations, will help Azerbaijan boost its efforts to follow the example of the South Korean government. The tie with Azerbaijan will be a good chance for Korean IT companies to enter the markets of central Asian countries.
