LG Electronics announced on the 23rd that the company had succeeded to realize Emotional 3D Broadcasting Technology through a Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB) phone, developed with MBC, which transmits 3D image signals and data signals to control the device.
The technology named Sensible Broadcasting with Your Hands enables realistic images by stimulating tactual sense and sight through vibration and flickering LEDs for broadcasting content to mobile phones.
With this technology, mobile phones will vibrate for explosion scenes and flicker LED lights for dancing club scenes.
At a demonstration at the MC research center of LG Electronics in Gasan-dong, Seoul, the mobile phone showed vibrations accompanying the speed of chasing cars from the MBC TV drama HIT.
MBC took care of the broadcasting transmission technology and content supply while LG Electronics developed the mobile phone to support the features.
LG Electronics MC research center Director Gwak Woo-Yeong said: "The technical innovation to satisfy the emotions of customers has improved from sound to sight and now to tactual sense."
