SEOUL, KOREA - Game publisher Smile Gate signed an agreement with JYP Entertainment, Korea’s major talent agency,to form a strategic alliance on November 18. Both Smile Gate and JYP Entertainment are well-respected companies in their respective fields. With the latest pact, the two companies will join forces in promoting Korea’s culture to the world.
Smile Gate has developed a globally popular game “Cross Fire,” which has been enjoyed by 400 million game players in 76 countries, grabbing the top spot in China’s online game ranking and in Brazil’s FPS ranking. JYP has played a leading role in promoting Korea’s musicians, such as Miss A, 2PM and other K-Pop groups.
Under this agreement, they aim to maximize synergies, as well as to establish a cultural content platform, aimed at making it easier for Korea’s cultural content to make forays into overseas markets.
