SEOUL, KOREA - Tom'n Toms, Korea's homegrown specialty coffee brand, will move in to China. The company said on December 10 that it would open its first Chinese store in Nanjing in February next year in partnership with Suning Commerce Group under a master franchise agreement. Suning Commerce Group is one of the largest retail operators in China with businesses in wide-ranging areas such as electronic appliances, shopping malls, and hotels.
With 396 stores in Korea and 24 in overseas locations including the United States, Thailand, Australia, and Singapore, Tom'n Toms will open stores in China in a rapid pace. It has an ambitious plan to open up to 600 locations in the Chinese eastern region including Shanghai and Nanjing.
Kim Do-kyun, president of Tom'n Toms, said, "Now that we have joined forces with China's one of the best-known private companies, we believe we can enter the Chinese market in an aggressive manner. We plan to invest large sums in China so that we can grow our brand quickly while allowing Chinese customers to have a taste of our coffee."
