The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transportation released its assessment on the safety of new cars in Korea for 2013. The Chevrolet Trax achieved the highest score of 93.5, followed by Kia Motors’ Carens with 90.3, and HyundaiMotor’s Max Cruise with 88.1.
This assessment was conducted with 11 models newly released within this year,including seven Korean-made models and four import car models.Seven out of the eleven models gained the first grade in the comprehensive safety assessment that consisted of four safety tests, including those related with collision, passenger, driving, and accident prevention.
The cars tested include K3, Carens (Kia Motors), Avante Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, MaxCruise (Hyundai Motor), Trax, Captiva (GM Korea), Toyota Prius, BMW 520d,Volkswagen Tiguan, and Nissan Cube.
