According to industry sources on December 13, the two Korean car makers plan to release new car ads at the first and fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, the largest sporting event in the U.S.
A Hyundai Motor official said, “We decided to carry out Super Bowl advertising to promote the sales of our New Genesis and Elantra. We cannot disclose how long the commercial will be.”
Kia Motors also plans to advertise its K9 in the telecasting. The K9 is scheduled to be launched in the U.S. from next year at a price of about $50,000-$70,000. Kia Motors aims to sell 5,000 units per year there.
Hyundai Motor has advertised its models at the Super Bowl for six consecutive years starting from 2008, while Kia Motors used the Super Bowl advertising for three straight years from 2010.
