Samsung's never-ending innovation
The 2006 LCD High-definition television (HDTV) market brought a great success to Samsung Electronics, satisfying many customers with its beauty and quality. On February of this year, Samsung introduced 2007 LCD HDTV model as 2007 Bordeaux LCD TV in Korea. Choosing LCD HDTV is not about getting a good picture quality anymore. It is about meeting convenience of usage, beauty in design, and decency in price. Samsung has developed fourteen models running in three distinct series, meeting the expectations to provide a range of options to fit every budget and taste.
Beautiful Television, R8 Series

The step-up R8 Series comes in five different screen sizes -- 23, 26, 32, 37, and 40 inches -- and continues Samsung's reputation for artfully designed TVs that look stunning on or off. The elegant range further refines the wine-glass inspired design concept of previous models, smoothing out the lines to perfection. With a lacquer exterior in a choice of neoclassic black or pearl white, the R8 Series features speakers that are ingeniously hidden from view so that nothing distracts away from the sophisticated, minimalist design.
The designer Kang Yoon-jae further explained on his design and stated: "I've tried to bring out the beauty of nature though this piece. The blue lightning on the bottom frames were inspired by the reflection and translucency of a wine glass and smoothing curved lines of the bottom frames are also the example of emotional design I sought to express this time. Televisions are part of interior decoration of the house nowadays, and I wanted the series to bring out the natural beauty into a room whether it is turned on or not."
Setting the models apart from other flat panel TVs, a transparent crystal bezel frames the R8 Series with its formless curve. Soft LED lighting emanates from the center of the bezel, creating a calming effect that compliments the smooth design. For black models, the lighting is ice blue, while white models glow warm amber, but the feature can also be disabled if the user prefers.
Stylish touch sensor buttons along the side of the units resemble embedded gems, adding a further touch of class. The R8 Series shares many of the high definition and color enhancing features of its high-end cousin, delivering great features and fantastic pictures to match its timeless design.
Users can easily connect MP3s, camcorders, cameras, and other AV devices to R8 Series. Samsung used the latest digital connectivity solutions on selected models throughout the lineup, including three conveniently positioned HDMI connectors enabling users to connect a variety of AV devices quickly and easily. The connectors are located in the side frame of the TV.
For the larger models throughout the new LCD lineup, Samsung introduces a new Auto Wall-mount feature that lets the user adjust the position of the screen from their couch with the remote control. The unit can be swiveled by as much as 20 degrees horizontally in both directions and 15 degrees down.
