SEOUL, KOREA - GS Shop announced on January 13 that its mobile shopping application passed the 5-million mark in cumulative downloads. GS Shop surpassed the 2-million level in September 2013, first in industry, in three years after it launched its mobile shopping app “Mobile GS Shop” in April 2010.
GS Shop provides a variety of benefits to those who download the mobile app, including happy points, happy money, culture cash, and movie ticket discount.
GS Shop’s mobile performance marked a sharp growth along with an increase in the number of downloads. Mobile GS Shop saw the amount of its transactions rise to 280 billion won in 2013 from 43.5 billion won in 2012. GS Shop expects the amount of its mobile transactions to shoot up to 600 billion won this year.
