SEOUL, KOREA - KT announced on February 19 that it ranked No. 1 among domestic telecom brands in the 2014 Telecom Brand Top 500 ranking selected by the UK’s brand assessment consulting firm Brand Finance.
Brand Finance evaluated the brand value of KT at US$4,912 million or about 5.2 trillion won. This represents the highest figure among Korea’s major telecom brands. In the global ranking, KT was positioned at No. 33.
Brand Finance said, “KT is one of Korea’s most creative and dynamic businesses and positioned itself as the most valuable telecom brand in Korea.”
A KT official said, “This result is attributable to all of KT employees’ active participation in brand management. We will accelerate customer-centered brand management further, aimed at developing ourselves into the world’s No. 1 telecom brand.” In this ranking, SK Telecom was positioned at No. 36, followed by LG U+ (No. 66).
