Samsung Electronics’ Taiwanese unit held a Galaxy S5 launching event on March 20 and announced that it set the price of Galaxy S5 16-GB model at 22,900 Taiwanese yuan. If calculating it in Korean won, it is equivalent to 806,000 won. The price of the 32-GB model is set at slightly higher than 840,000 won.
This is the first time for Samsung Electronics’ overseas unit to reveal the accurate price of the item. The Galaxy S5 was revealed first at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 Unpack event in February in Barcelona, Spain. There have been various rumors regarding the retail price of Galaxy S5, the latest smartphone from the world’s No. 1 smartphone maker.
Considering that the Galaxy S5 is a global model, its domestic price will likely to stand at a level similar to that of Taiwan.
