SEOUL, KOREA - NHN Entertainment is driving forward with a plan to acquire Ticket Link. On April 30, NHN Entertainment is known to be making efforts to acquire the ticket reservation site Ticket Link.
Ticket Link has a high reputation particularly in the area of sports ticket reservations. One can make reservations for theaters or sporting events through this site. The profitability of Ticket Link, however, has declined lately. It posted sales of 10.9 billion won, operating loss of 1.6 billion won, and net loss of 2.1 billion won last year.
An NHN Entertainment official said, “It is true that we are now engaged in negotiations to acquire Ticket Link. However, no details regarding this deal are available now.” He added, “We are making a variety of investments in IT-based companies as part of an effort to diversify income sources, as well as to strengthen our infrastructure and technologies. Considering that Ticket Link ranks No. 1 in the category of sports ticket sales, we think its business value is high.”
