As is well known, the IT industry of Korea has made a great contribution to enhancing our national competitiveness, job creation, and improvement of the international trade balance. In particular, it played a critical role in breaking through the Asian financial crisis in 1997.
The IT industry is now deeply rooted in our daily life in applications such as e-commerce, u-health, and disaster prevention. It is a growth engine for our economy. It has become a core factor to the operation of the national social system. By combining it with newer and older industries such as shipbuilding, automobiles, and logistics, the importance of the IT industry is growing larger. In this respect an English IT journal that plays an important role in raising the status of IT Korea also carries a significant meaning.
We are proud that during the past five years the Korea IT Times has grown into a reliable and influential media outlet by its incessant efforts to vividly deliver news and information on government policies, industry developments, and R&D activities.
