SEOUL, KOREA - GE Healthcare Korea announced that it held the ‘GE healthymagination Walk’ on September 27 (Saturday) at the Cheonggye Plaza to celebrate upcoming the breast cancer awareness month of October.
At this event, approximately 200 GE Korea employees and their family members gathered to make a human pink ribbon which symbolizes breast cancer prevention, at the Cheonggye Plaza, in order to demonstrate the commitment in tackling breast cancer. In addition, the participants attended educational session of self-screening of breast cancer to help women manager their health better. With the partnership with Korea Venus, a breast cancer patient association, it held a charity bazaar, and the funds from the bazaar will be donated to assist with the treatment of breast cancer patients.
This is the 5th year since GE Healthcare has started healthymagination walk together with breast cancer awareness campaign to celebrate the survivors of breast cancer and increase the awareness of the breast cancer among general public. This year, GE Healthcare organized and executed various programs and activities at the Cheonggye Plaza together with the Korean Cancer Society, Korea Breast Cancer Foundation and ‘Korea Venus’, a breast cancer patient association.
Sia Moussavi, CEO of GE Healthcare, said, “Breast cancer is a devastating disease affecting 1 out of 9 women around the world. Women in Korea may have higher risk of this disease due to more dense biology compared to the Western women” adding, “GE Healthcare is committed to tackle breast cancer by providing innovative technologies to help Doctors detect breast cancer earlier with greater diagnosis confidence paving the way for intervention and treatment. We are committed to raise awareness of breast cancer and importance of early diagnosis with our annual ‘healthymagination’ event in Seoul.
