The robust growth in sales is attributable to a sharp increase in domestic sales, driven by the release of new cars, including New Sorento and New Carnival, plus the continuing growth in overseas sales, backed by heightened brand awareness.
Domestic sales grew 7.2 percent compared to a month ago and 20.2 percent compared to a year ago.In particular, All New Sorento, which was released in September, gained popularity, driving the overall sales growth together with other flagship models such as Morning, K3, and K5.
For the January-September period of this year, Kia Motors sold 335,677 units in the domestic market, down 1.0 percent from a year ago. Its overseas sales, however, rose 10.8 percent to 1,923,472 units during this period.
