SEOUL, KOREA - Using Google's glasses, a real-time motion picture of the spinal surgery is successfully broadcasted over the Internet and possible for anybody to watch the operating room of spine surgery from anywhere in the world as well as promote an excellent medical technology.
WOORIDUL HOSPITAL in Gimpo International Airport branch(Hospital Director Choi Gon), which is registered the professional hospital of spinal surgery by Ministry of Health&Welfare, has developed an Internet program ‘Live screen’ with SketchLab Corp. and transmitted a real-time surgery motion picture using the Google glasses via Internet network. It’s the first success of medical surgery broadcasting using Google glasses in Korea. With this success, the public perception about the surgery in an enclosed space will be changed and it’s used to inform the advanced medical technology of Korea over the world.
The Live Screen will simultaneously be connected by a lot of people than the traditional streaming program that complements the transmission rate so that it does not fall. Dr. Im Gangtaek at Kimpo Airport, WOORIDULl Hospital, and SketchLab has developed it over three months. Regardless of place and time, it enables doctors to learn spinal surgery from anywhere in the world because the two-way communication is possible
