P&T/Wireless and Networks Comm China 2009 (P&T/Comm 09) will be held during from Sept. 16 to 20 at the China International Exhibition Centre, Beijing, P.R. China.

P&T/Comm 09 is officially sponsored by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the Peoples Republic of China (MIIT, PRC) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The show is organized by the China National Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Corporation (PTAC) and China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation with Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd (Adsale) as an Overseas Organizer. The spotlighted forum - the ICT CHINA HIGH LEVEL FORUM - will stage its 5th edition, and is recognized as the most significant and influential platform for both domestic and overseas telecom operators. The ICT market in China has immense potential and the competition for 3G has kicked off after the re-structuring of 3 major telecom operators. According to statistics announced by MIIT, PRC, the total business volume of telecom sector in 2008 achieved 2.24 trillion, which was a 21% increase compared to 2007 with total revenue recorded 814 billion, which was a 7% increase compared to 2007. The 3 leading telecom operators also proposed huge investments for 2009. For instance, China Mobile planned to invest 58.8 billion with services covering 23 cities, China Telecom planned a 30 billion investment for the initial stage with services covering 100 cities by March 2009, while China Unicom planned a 30 billion investment with services covering 282 cities by the end of 2009.

Without a doubt, the strategic planning and contest among the operators will accelerate the development of China telecom industry. A: With MIIT as the exclusive sponsor, it shows the authoritative status of P&T/Comm in China's ICT industry as well as a preeminent event in the country. It is well recognized and participated in by operators, regulators, usual suppliers and buyers that make the show a must-visit event.

Q: Green technology seems to be a big fad this year. Will there be any emphasis on this kind of energy-saving technology at P&T/Comm

A: Yes, green technology is one of the spotlight scopes and in fact, a number of exhibitors already indicated their demonstration in P&T/Comm. We are collecting exhibits information currently and can give more info later.

Q: What are the innovative technologies expected to be displayed at the expo or technical forum

A: P&T/Comm is recognized as the best platform to launch and showcase innovative technologies by years and therefore the event is well participated by industry professionals and attracted attention of media worldwide.

Q: What do you think is the overall trend or trends of the telecoms industry in China

A: With 3G fully deployed, it is believed that China will move to 4G very soon. We also expect to see increasing growth of smart phones and user experience related products. It will discuss business opportunities for operators, terminal providers and application developers in a 3G environment.

Q: Do you think the Chinese government's strict control over communications has affected the telecoms industry If so, is it positive or negative

A: We are not in the position to answer this question, yet, it's without doubt that China's telecom market has enormous potential and has far-reaching influence to telecom industry worldwide.
