A pickup truck concept car “Santa Cruz” that Hyundai Motor showed off at the 2015 North American International Auto Show held in Detroitis gaining critical acclaims overseas.Attention is growing over whether or not Hyundai Motor will launch the mass-production of this concept car model.
The Santa Cruz is a concept car that combines the strengths of a passenger vehicle, an SUV and a truck. It was designed and planned by Hyundai Motor America.Despite having SUV-like size, the Santa Cruz is designed to extend its storage capacity up to that of mid-sized pickup trucks.
U.S. daily USA Today said on its January 17 edition, “The Santa Cruz is an interesting concept car which has an SUV-like front design and a pickup truck-like rear design,” selecting it as one of five must-see models at the Detroit Motor Show.
Bloomberg also selected the Santa Cruz as the best car in the Detroit Motor Show, saying “It is one of the most interesting vehicles, exceeding expectations.”
