8th ITC 2009 promises to Experience Tomorrow Today

At the same time someone passes by Incheon International Airport on Yeongjong Island in the West Sea after landing from abroad, one will admire the beautiful scene of Incheon International Airport and Yeongjong Island as well as the longest bridge from Yeongjong Island to Incheon Metropolitan City. Incheon, one of the most famous port cities of world, is showing its attractions one more time by hosting a major international event on information technology in late August.

ITC 2009 – 8th Incheon International Information Technology Communication 2009 (http://www.itc.or.kr) will be held at Song-do Convensia, a convention center in Songdo, Incheon, Korea for four days from Aug. 26 until 29 with the catchphrase Experiencing Tomorrow Today 2009. ITC 2009 will be held during the period of another major international event hosted by the Incheon Metropolitan City Government - the Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon (www.incheonfair.org) which will be held for 80 days in Songdo from August 7 until October 25. It is expected that more than 1,500 companies from over 100 countries will take part in the global fair and festival.

ITC 2009 is attracting attention due to a lot of attractions such as shows, events, exhibitions and forums. More than 350 domestic and foreign companies in the field of IT will participate in ITC 2009 by exhibiting many interesting and innovative IT-related products and technology.

Under the catchphrase Experiencing Tomorrow Today, ITC 2009 is aimed at improving Korea’s status as an IT power of the world as well as playing the leading role in global IT industries. The Organizing Committee expects this year’s event to provide global business opportunities, present a future vision for an ideal IT-related life, and set an example for B2B exhibitions. The Organizing Committee will provide consultation specializing in exports, conferences on strategy for the promotion of overseas markets, and consultation for small and medium size companies in the events. Especially, export negotiations will be held for potential buyers from 11 countries including China. The Organizing Committee will also provide opportunities to have meetings with 30 businesses from Shenzhen, China.

During the ITC 2009, IT products and technologies including exciting shows will be on display to visitors such as a wearable IT fashion show, a showcase for new mobile appliances and a signing session put on by Jeonja Land basketball team and famous entertainers. A U-Zone, one of the featured events, will allow visitors to take a first-hand look at how an RFID/USN module system works.

The ITC 2009 will focus on many categories of IT in its exhibition.  This will include information and communications including digital equipment; IPTV and DID; digital content and software including mobile content; consoles and online games; next generation technologies including RFID/USN and WiBro; and fusion IT technologies including green IT, PLM, u-health, and u-life.
