Hyundai Motor released the LF Sonata Turbo mounted with a 2.0-liter turbo linear spray engine, on February 11. Compared to its previous model Sonata 2.4, the newly-released LF Sonata Turbo improves output by 27 percent and torque performance by 43 percent.
The LF Sonata Turbo has a maximum output of 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36.0 kg.m, with its compound fuel efficiency estimated at 10.8 kilometers per liter, a 5 percent improvement compared to the previous model.
The external look of the Sonata Turbo is differentiated by employing a turbo-dedicated radiator grille, a mesh-type bumper, a rear spoiler, and a dual muffler.
For more driving fun, Sonata Turbo is mounted with a sport transmission-type gear knob and a paddle shift.
A Hyundai Motor official said, “With this turbo model, we will expand the user base for our Sonata brand.” Hyundai Motor aims to sell 4,200 units of Sonata Turbo in the domestic market this year. The retail price of Sonata Turbo is set at 26.95 million won (Smart) and 32.1 million won (Exclusive).
