At the 4th Business Fair, GIGA korea outlines plans to help manufacturers set up shop in China – both online and in-store.

Giga Korea mobile shopping mall

The 4th Business Fair was held in Pangyo’s Public Utility Building, in Sungnam on February 14 this year. The event saw somewhere in the region of 500 manufacturers representing small- and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) participate, and was held to herald the launch of 180 Korean shopping outlets in the subway mall of the Zhongxin shopping district in Shenzhen, China.

The Zhongxin area is reputed to be China’s most vibrant area for younger citizens. Its dynamic economy and 0.25 million-strong population is a driving force in the modern Chinese economy.

Representatives have explained that enterprises set up shop in the mall can enjoy a range of favorable benefits, such as a year’s free rent and pro bono legal advice. Korean SMEs can thus make agreements with the Zhongxin Group, a Chinese state-run conglomerate, which will be allowed them to launch GIGA KOREA online shopping malls developed by GIGA KOREA upon setting up shop at the mall.

Kwon Oh-seok, Chairman of Giga Korea

GIGA KOREA’s shopping mall offers its users a unique and customizable platform, quite distinct from current Korean consumer options, whereby producers, vendors and consumers can all enjoy the benefits from a multiple calculation system. The mall’s system also simplifies otherwise complex procedures such as product order and home delivery application, instead creating a one-stop system that allows consumers and vendors to buy and sell using the same platform.

The system is incredibly easy to use, and provides a convenient interface even for mobile users. Patrons and vendors can easily access it with just about any kind of Internet-enabled device at anytime, anywhere, and the system also provides multi-language services. Manufacturers can use it to sell goods for the same price – whether customers prefer to make online or in-store purchases, without the need to stockpile their goods.

In cooperation with Zhongxin Group, Kwon Oh-seok, the CEO of GIGA KOREA, has entered into a partnership arrangement with Ping An Bank and the Chinese Communist Youth League. As part of the arrangement, the parties has now successfully begun a new platform-based era of innovative online and offline shopping malls.

The 4th Business Fair began with presentations made by manufacturers and vendors who have had a range of positive experiences working with the new shopping mall and its platforms in China.

The first speaker was Yoo Sang-ki, the CEO of a company that manufactures handbags made of sheets of natural leather. Yoo said, “I had previously tried to make inroads into the Chinese market for a long time, but to no avail. However, that has all changed now, and I have new hope for my business ventures in the country after participating in the last GIGA KOREA Business Fair.”

Another business owner, Park Jung-hee, who has run her own hot water mats-making company for 24 years said that her experiences with the Zhongxin Group were overwhelmingly positive. She explained, “This was the first time I felt respected and valued as Korean vendor. It has been great so far.”

Hwang Zoo-ah, another Korean business owner who has been preparing to move into the global market since ten years ago, noted, “The best way for Korean SMEs to survive is through a collaboration with GDGIGA KOREA. Korean companies enter into an agreements with the Zhongxin Group, and can develop a successful business relationship.”

Seo Kyung-duk is chief researcher and GIGA KOREA. His experience in his chosen field is vast, and includes a stint as chief system engineer at both Microsoft and Samsung Electronics. Seo said,“GIGA KOREA uses as solution-based, web-centered approach that makes it distinct from Alibaba, the world’s largest online shopping mall. GIGA KOREA’s system offers a remarkable solution for its users. It really is the only system of its kind that allows online and in-store transactions to be put in place at the same time.”

Han Wha-gab, the president of The Korea Peace Foundation

이어 한반도평화재단 한화갑 총재는 축사에서 “대통령

Han Wha-gab, the president of The Korea Peace Foundation, asked some pertinent questions and explained, “During [Korean President] Park Geun-hye’s recent state visits abroad along with hundreds of Korean entrepreneurs, were the entrepreneurs asked how they might make money together Did any Korean or Chinese government officials indicate that they might be willing to look for ways to foster and develop business ventures”

Han added, “However, Mr Kwon is now forging a business arena where Korean SMEs can thrive in a system based on trust and honesty. GIGA KOREA can sell your products, but only if you produce them and stock in the mall.”

Han also noted that following its advance into the Chinese market, GIGA KOREA now intends to expand into Southeast Asian countries, such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. The company is also hopeful of one day looking to enter the North American and European markets. Said Han, “This is an innovative platform that business owners can use to advance into global markets.”

CEO Kwon himself thinks that his company will launch the paradigm-shifting shopping mall on March 21, with representatives from Zhongxin Group, Google, Apple, Facebook, MS and Alibaba in attendance. The project will go live from April 1.

Kwon wrapped up the 4th Business Fair with the comment, “As soon as we finish launching in Seoul, meetings in Vietnam and Indonesia will be next on the agenda. By 2017, Korean exporters will be enjoying rude health in the Chinese market thanks to GIGA KOREA shopping malls.”
