Ewha Womans University Medical Center(EUMC, President & CEO Lee, Soon Nam / http://eng.eumc.ac.kr) is pushing ahead with targeting the medical market in Russia
by dispatching the delegation to attract foreign patients both last year and this year.
The delegation is comprised of Dr.Paik, Nam-sun, Director of Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women and Shim Ki-Nam, head of the department of internal medicine, Ewha Womans University School of Medicine. The delegates visited Vladivostok, Artem and Irkutsk to start diversified marketing activities in order to attract Russian patients while disseminating advanced medical technologies of EUMC.
Last year, the delegation visited Pacific State Medical University in Russia, which it already signed the MOU and discussed about whether to participate in Vladivostok International Cancer Symposium in May and training for medical staff supporting Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and Clinical day.
In particular, Dr.Paik Nam-sun, Director of Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women lectured Korea’s latest breast cancer surgery and recent advances, which was widely accepted by local professors and students.
In addition, EUMC had discussions on cooperation with four medical tour agencies in Vladivostok, Artem and Irkutsk and entered into agreements while having discussed about exchange and cooperation with Artem’s first hospital, Artem’s maternity hospital, Vladivostok’s obstetrics and gynecology hospital and Irkutsk’s state hospital and staff training of EUMC.
Such aggressive actions from EUMC’s delegates sparked interest as much as more than 20 media in Irkutsk and Lake Baikal spotlighted them.
“Our visit to Russia made a momentum where we can invigorate attracting Russian patients in cooperation with local agencies and many institutions in Vladivostok, Artem and Irkutsk,“said Dr.Paik Nam-sun, Director of Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women, “Taking account of geographic proximity and Russian patients’ need for advanced medical services, we will keep trying to disseminate Korea’s advanced medical skills as well as attracting patients in Russia.”By Lee Jae-seung
